The Monkey Pot originates from the Lecythis elliptica, a large nut producing tree found in the Amazonian forests. This species is closely related to the tree that produces the Ourico Pods!
The term “Monkey Pot” is said to derive from a monkey baiting technique where the empty nut is filled with fruit; a monkey would be able to insert its paw but unable to remove it.
Monkey Pots provide a natural visually appealing look within an enclosure, but they can also be used for various functional purposes within your bioactive terrarium or aquarium.
The Monkey Pots averages 5″ in diameter. However, due to the nature of this product there will be natural variation in size and color of each pot.
